LAGOON

My friend Hillary and I took our kids to Lagoon last week and it was so dang fun! I thought with 4 kids 3 and under we would last maybe 3-4 hours. We opened and closed that place down! Jaxson loved it -- he is a little daredevil when it comes to rides. The only sad thing was that he's a shorty--he was an inch too tall to ride some of the kiddie rides. He was CRUSHED when he waited in line for like 20 minutes and they wouldn't let him on the kid version of the rocket. Everybody in line was yelling "Let him go--he's so close!" But this mean lagoon lady was not having any of it and she sent a sobbing 3 year old away from her ride over less than an inch of height. Dang lady!! He loved the boats, bumper cars, and puff. Garners--thanks for an awesome day!

Look at that face! That is right after they kicked him off the ride for being too short. I tried to get him excited to ride this one instead, but as you can see, it didn't work. SAD!

RASPBERRY DAYS

I love love LOVE Bear Lake. We went there for Raspberry days to shop and boat and just have a great time! My sister-in-law Holly's awesome parents let us stay at their mountain home so we didn't have to deal with outhouses and we got to shower at night (thanks Westons!). We hit the fair early on Thursday so we could get to the cutest stuff first (and it worked because when we came back on Saturday there was hardly anything left). We went boating all day and played cards all night (okay, only until about 1 but when you are nodding off at the card table it FEELS like all night). Jaxson loved the Minnetonka caves and mostly feeding the chipmunks outside of the caves. Last year he would cry when people would crash on the wakeboard or tube, this year he laughs hysterically. Should we be worried? The Bells came up to hang out on Saturday and Jaxson was in heaven surrounded by ALL his cousins and both sets of Grandparents. What a great weekend!

I love that little face!

MUFFIN TIN TAG

We did this for lunch last week, and Jaxson loved it. He saw the muffin tin full or food and said "Mommy--what did you DO?" All you do is fill a muffin tin with a bunch of finger foods and let them have at it for lunch--we did grapes, cheeses, goldfish crackers, fruit snacks, apples, raisins, cheetos and croutons.

Anyway, I need more ideas of what to put in the tin, so I'm turning this into a tag. All you have to do is make your kids a muffin tin lunch, and post a picture on your blog so we can all see what fun things you thought to put in it!

The Adventures of Jake

Jaxson got this bubble gun for his birthday, and I think it was more of a present for Jake--what do you think?

Is it my happy birthday yet?

That's the question we have heard from Jaxson almost every day for months. Ever since his cousins all had their birthdays right in a row in April/May, he has been OBSESSED. Since he doesn't understand when July 29th is, he just decided to ask every day until it finally happened. Needless to say he was so excited when he woke up on Tuesday to find presents, balloons, and crepe paper decorating the kitchen. He had a blast all day playing with his presents, looking at pictures from when he was born (just ask him to tell you about his cone head), and couldn't wait for his party. We had a family BBQ at my parent's house that night with people from both sides--thanks so much to everyone who came! Jaxson was definitely in his element surrounded by cousins and being the center of attention. He got spoiled rotten and is so proud to be three!

Birthday breakfast--Mickey Mouse pancakes

This is his awesome kung-fu panda cake --he loved it even though it wasn't the prettiest cake ever made, and he made everyone come see it when they came to the party.
