Gettin' Hitched

My little brother, Chad got married yesterday in the Salt Lake Temple. It was such a great day and we're so excited for Chad and Anne! Jaxson had a blast at the temple and at the reception, he thought he was hot stuff in his tuxedo (which he called his okey-dokes--don't ask me). Wyatt just smiled his little heart out at everyone the whole time, and he LOVED the italian soda bar. We finally had to make sure no drinks were in his view, or he would freak out. My sister-in-law's awesome Mom took the boys home with her about halfway through the reception, and dropped them off at our house with a cousin to babysit them. So we were free to talk to grown ups and didn't have to chase/rock/feed/clean any children for the last half of the reception--so nice! I highly recommend it. Here are some pictures of our fun day:

IS IT LOCKED? MAYBE I BETTER CHECK...

Me and Jax

Jaxson 'tackling' his cousin Cody--Cody has about 20 lbs. on Jaxson, but neither one of them has figured that out yet.

The clean cousin

The dirty cousin

(this took him about 5 minutes to do get that way, and this picture was taken after they cleaned him off the best they could)

Wyatt lovin' his italian soda, with a little extra whip cream left over for later.

Mark and I after the kids went home--don't we look relaxed?

CONGRATULATIONS CHAD AND ANNE--THANKS FOR A GREAT DAY!

The Fourth

Happy 4th of July! We hung out at home in the morning because we slept through the pancake breakfast/flag raising at the Grist Mill. Mark and I went to see Indiana Jones during the day--he has been waiting to see it so he got to pick. It was entertaining until the end--I'm sorry, Aliens? ARE YOU KIDDING ME? Sorry for the spoiler if you haven't seen it yet, but I think you are better off going in prepared. We had a fun night at a family barbeque and the kids LOVED the fireworks. We had a ten dollar box of fireworks from Walmart that Jaxson looked at everyday for a week, so when it came time to light them he was SO EXCITED. It was hilarious to watch him and his little cousins freak out over those 3-foot fountains. Don't you miss the time when you were excited over flowers, and smoke bombs, and those little tanks that shoot out sparks? Who needs Hannah Montana--when you're two, you can't beat a box of sparklers!

Jax cruising around the backyard in his cousin's princess convertable. Even though he is all boy, he thought this was a pretty sweet ride!

Jaxson and his cousins, Bailey and Taylor all set to watch the show...

Taylor decided she didn't want to be anywhere near that thing once it started going off! Jaxson was fine to stay there as long as he didn't have to hear it.

Oooooohhhh, Aaaaaaaaah

My favorite picture from the night--doesn't that face say it all?

POWELL TRIP!

Okay, so I know I've been a slacker this month, but our computer has been broken. We've been having a great summer so far, mostly having picnics in the yard (2-year-olds are so easily impressed) and swimming at the Stansbury pool. We just got back from a trip to Lake Powell with my family and some of their neighbors, and it was so dang fun. That is my very favorite place to go! I LOVE it, even if gas is $5.39 a gallon there (ouch). We left Wyatt home (thanks Connie and Cami!) because we thought he would be pretty miserable there. I MISSED HIM LIKE CRAZY!! I felt like one of my arms was missing or something, but I still had a way fun trip. Jaxson kept us busy chasing him around with sunblock and a lifejacket all day everyday. He had such a blast, with the exception of the first night, where he could be heard throughout the whole houseboat (and probably echoing off the rocks of Lake Powell) yelling "I want my brother! I wanna go home! I don't want to live on this boat anymore! We ended up sleeping on a tent on the beach and he was fine after that. Here are some fun pics we took:

Can you see why this is my favorite place to go??? SO AWESOME!

Mark trying out his new wakeboard--he was working on clearing the wake and I was working on getting in and out of the wake without falling on my face (which is why there are no pics of me wakeboarding!)

All set for a "wild" tube ride

Jaxson's favorite place to be--on the boat with his very own can of pringles!

Some other fun pictures...

Swimming with Grandma Jill

Driving the boat with Grandpa

Okay, okay, so this one isn't really from Lake Powell since he wasn't there, but I couldn't leave Wyatt out! Isn't he so stinking cute in his swimming suit with all that chub?!

JAKE'S FAVORITE GAME

MESSY EATER

Wyatt is finally starting to eat solids, and it is next to impossible to actually get any food into his mouth! He won't stop smiling and sticking out his tongue, and the food just goes everywhere. At least he liked the spoon!

CALLED TO SERVE

Mark's brother and sister both entered the MTC on Wednesday! They got their calls on the same day, are both serving in the states, Spanish speaking, and went in on the same day. Crazy, huh! They were both so excited, and we're excited for them even though we it was sad to see them leave. Alyssa is going to San Jose, and Tyler is going to Chicago. Don't they look like cute little missionaries?!
